Question:
I have a sharp whistling sound when I try to say “s”, “sh” and “ch” sounds. It started after dental work and it has been over two years now. I have not found a dentist willing to help me. Is there any hope that speech therapy could help? Can the tongue be re-trained to make sounds properly?
Answer:
I do think speech therapy will help you and yes, once you know how to practice, you can retrain your tongue. You just need someone to help you analyze what you are doing and to give you the appropriate exercises. Hang in there!
