Question:
I’m only 16 years old and am a male…I find that I can get high notes but they are not natural sounding…it’s as if I sound like a different person. Can you please tell me why this is and how I can change it?
Answer:
You must be very careful not to push your voice while it is developing. Your high notes will strengthen naturally with age and the consistency of timbre throughout the range will develop in time. Meanwhile, choose appropriate repertoire and find a teacher who understands the developing male voice so you learn to support, phonate and access resonance in safe, healthy ways.
