Quick fix for phlegm

Question:

I am a member of the National Christian Choir and have been a vocalist for years. I have a solo tomorrow and I am on antibiotic for a sinus infection. I need help with Post Nasal Globs (sorry needed to be graphic) and can’t find Mucinex for sinuses anywhere. Anything else you can suggest?

Answer:

Nasal Rinse with Saline Solution – your local pharmacy should have a neti pot and instructions.

Gargle with very lightly salted, tepid water.

Steam 20 minutes out of each hour. (Use a bath towel over your head, leaning over a pot of recently boiled water.)

Drink throat coat tea.

NO MENTHOL OR COUGH DROPS.

Avoid mucus-causing foods (dairy, red meat, anything you might be allergic to).

Rest and relax the mind with meditation and positive visualization.

Have faith that it is the soul that sings, and that the voice can always respond to the soul’s intention.
