Breathing exercises

Question:

What types of excercises or vocal warm-ups could I do to increase breath control?

Answer:

This is a very complex question because managing the breath for singing is dependent on how the vocal cords work. That being said, yoga breathing practices are excellent for developing breath control. The portions on breath management in Richard Miller’s THE STRUCTURE OF SINGING are excellent. Also, at www.morethanspeaking.com the VOCAL TUNE-UP FOR SPEAKERS has several breathing practices.
